| 6th Annual G.A R. Tournament!! |
| This year's tourney marks our 6th year...and we've decided to dedicate and re-name it The John Uhr Memorial GAR Tournament in honor of our dear and beloved friend, Capt. John Uhr, II. We lost Capt. Johnny Dec. 30th of last year. He was an avid sportsman and well known sportfishing captain...and one of his favorite "critters" to chase was gar. He grew up fishing the waters of the Texas Coast and even named a famous area the locals know as the "Gar Hole." Please join us for another GARRRREAT event! Captain's Meeting, Calcutta and Kick-Off Party is Saturday, August 27th with music by Tumble Dry Low Last year's tournament had a record of 14 teams. 1st Place went to Capt. Danny Adams, Jr., Mickey Miller, Russ Sabulatura and Adrian Zuniga with a 2-fish weigh of 168.2 pounds...also won the "Big Gar" division with an 88.3 pounder! 2nd Place went to Brad Smythe, Ryan Waggoner, Butch Waggoner and Mark "Whittey" Williams with a 2-fish weigh of 127.7 pounds. |
